LANCASTER, Ohio (March 30, 2012) – Martha Buckley, MD, was named the 2011 Gordon B. Snider, MD, Physician Teammate of the Year on March 27 among her peers at the Quarterly Medical Staff Meeting.
“Dr. Buckley received this award because she is a role model who demonstrates excellent communication skills with patients, families and staff,” said Dr. Steven Cox, Fairfield Medical Center chief medical officer. “She represents physicians that are willing to assist others when needed and demonstrate excellent patient outcomes and practices with safety being a priority.” Fairfield Medical Center employees are given the opportunity to nominate a physician that best fits this description.
Dr. Buckley has been on the medical staff at Fairfield Medical Center for two years. She currently practices as a hospitalist at Fairfield Medical Center as part of Colonnade Medical Group in Lancaster. Her husband, Dr. Jeremy Buckley, is also a physician at Fairfield Medical Center. He practices as an interventional cardiologist at Cardiovascular Specialists. The Buckleys reside in Amanda and are a great asset to the community.
“She is warm, caring and compassionate when speaking to each and every patient. She is attentive to every nurse’s question. She is very hard working, but she always has a smile to share,” stated an FMC employee.
This award is given every year in conjunction with Doctor’s Day; previous winners include Douglas A. Pope, MD; David R. Strominger, MD; Mark T. Darnell, MD; Troy A. Edwards, DO; Kanwaljit Singh, MD; Ralph R. Romaker, MD; and John J. Abidin, MD.
