Fairfield Federal Savings and Loan Supports Breast Cancer Awareness by Donating to the FMC Foundation
LANCASTER, Ohio (December 1, 2011) – Fairfield Federal Savings and Loan went the extra mile supporting breast cancer awareness by recently donating $500 to the cancer care fund through the Fairfield Medical Center (FMC) Foundation.
“Because October was breast cancer awareness month, we wanted to do something to make an impact. We are hoping that this donation will help women know the warning signs and encourage them to have their yearly mammogram,” said Judy Root, president of Fairfield Federal Savings and Loan. Root also noted that employees wore pink throughout the month of October to show their support.
The cancer care fund through the FMC Foundation assists women who are in need of screening mammograms and resources. The fund is for women who cannot afford these resources due to lack of insurance.
Ricki Chenault, FMC Foundation director, commented, “I am glad to see a local business partner with us to promote more awareness about this cause and help us save lives. On behalf of all of us at FMC we thank Fairfield Federal Savings and Loan for going out of their way to make a difference.”
“This donation will affect so many people’s lives and shows the commitment we have in our community to fight breast cancer,” explained Joyce Cox, oncology nurse navigator at FMC.
FMC offers a full line of cancer services, providing treatment and support to patients in need. Cancer services include chemotherapy, surgery, radiation, and more. From diagnosis to treatment, our oncology nurse navigators are by your side, helping you every step of the way.
