Look Good...Feel Better

Look Good…Feel Better is a free program by Fairfield Medical Center designed for women undergoing cancer treatment. The class helps participants manage the appearance-related side effects of their treatment. Instructors trained by the American Cancer Society teach women about beauty techniques such as skin care, makeup application, wig styling and ways to wear a scarf. Lead instructors are certified every two years.

Women are taught how to deal with the loss of eyebrows and lashes, as well as shown how to apply makeup to give the illusion of both. In addition to learning about makeup and skin care, participants also learn how to pick out and style wigs, the different ways to wear scarves and how to tie a T-shirt wrap.

Look Good…Feel Better is a fun day for patients to relax, make new friends and build confidence in their appearance.

The mission of Look Good...Feel Better is to help women feel better during their cancer treatment by improving their self-esteem and quality of life. The class is offered by Fairfield Medical Center in partnership with the American Cancer Society.

For more information about the program, contact Resa Tobin, FMC community educator, at (740) 687-8477.
