Fairfield Medical Cancer Resource Center Named American Cancer Society’s Division Citation Award RecipientThe Fairfield Medical Cancer Resource Center was selected as a recipient of the American Cancer Society’s Division Citation Award.

This award recognizes the efforts of organizations providing outstanding cooperation in carrying out cancer control activities and the overall mission of the American Cancer Society.

FMC was one of only 10 recipients of the award across the East Central Division, which is comprised of Ohio and Pennsylvania.

“This prestigious award commends FMC for going above and beyond to give their community the resources needed for coping with cancer,” said Amy Magorien, American Cancer Society account manager. “It shows that the staff at FMC make it a priority to serve patients, not only during their hospital stay, but well after they are discharged, and that speaks volumes.”

The Fairfield Medical Cancer Resource Center provides cancer-related information and education to the community, retail items for patients and meeting room space for support groups, educational classes and other programs.

“We are honored to receive this award from the American Cancer Society,” said Janice Novotni, Fairfield Medical Cancer Resource Center coordinator. “We are close partners with them and we are proud to offer as much as we can to help people in need when diagnosed with cancer and their families.”

Fairfield Medical Center’s cancer program is designed to provide personalized, multi-disciplinary care that is compassionate and close to home. The cancer program is accredited by the Commission on Cancer of the American College of Surgeons and is focused on prevention, early diagnosis, cancer staging, optimal treatment, rehabilitation, life-long follow up for recurrent disease and end-of-life care.
