Community Healthfest set for August 2

LANCASTER, Ohio (June 25, 2014) – Fairfield Medical Center and Fairfield Christian Academy are once again proud to host the Community Healthfest on Saturday, Aug. 2. Healthfest will be held at Fairfield Christian Church, located at 1965 N. Columbus St., in Lancaster, from 9 a.m. until noon.

“Healthfest is for the whole family–adults and children of all ages,” said Resa Tobin, Fairfield Medical Center community educator. ”There are a variety of health screenings and activities to promote the health and well being of people in our community.”

Among the services that will be provided are cholesterol and glucose screenings, vision and hearing tests, spinal screenings and blood pressure and bone density tests, as well as childhood immunizations (please bring your immunization records with you).

The Healthfest will once again offer the Strollin’ Colon, an inflatable, very large, walk-through educational exhibit designed to provide education about colorectal cancer screenings. There also will be prizes, dental exams, health information and much more. Dental exams are available for children 18 years of age and younger.

Community Healthfest will feature fun activities for children, such as face painting, WiiTM games and backpack checks, as well as helicopters and police cars to explore. There also will be free school supplies available for children who are present (while supplies last).
