Respiratory Therapist Makes "Great Catch"

On Oct. 27, CEO Jack Janoso and Chief Nursing Officer Cynthia Pearsall surprised respiratory therapist Megan Parsons with a $100 gift card and Fairfield Medical Center’s first Great Catch Award, which recognizes employees who go above and beyond to keep patients safe. Last month, while performing her morning treatments, Parsons noticed that a patient was slurring words and exhibiting unusual behavior. Concerned, she immediately notified a nurse. A CAT call was initiated, followed by a stroke alert, upon which the patient was transferred to another facility so an intervention could be performed.

Great job, Megan!
