Community Healthfest 2013

Fairfield Medical Center and Fairfield Christian Academy are once again proud to host Community HealthFest on Saturday, Aug. 3, 2013. HealthFest will be held at Fairfield Christian Church, located at 1965 N. Columbus St., in Lancaster, from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m.

“HealthFest is for the whole family, adults and children of all ages,” said Resa Tobin, Fairfield Medical Center community educator. ”There are a variety of health screenings and activities to promote the health and well being of people in our community.”

Among the services that will be provided are cholesterol and glucose screenings, hands-on CPR, vision and hearing tests, spinal screenings, glaucoma screenings, blood pressure and bone density tests as well as childhood immunizations (please bring your immunization records with you).

The free children immunization clinic is made possible by the Fairfield Medical Center Foundation, Fairfield Department of Health and Lancaster Rotary.

New this year, we will be offering the Strollin’ Colon. The inflatable Strollin' Colon is a very large walk-through educational exhibit designed to teach communities about colorectal cancer screening. There will also be a blood drive, food, prizes, dental exams, health information and much more. Appointments for dental exams for children 18 years of age and younger are recommended by calling (740) 653-1305.

Community HealthFest will also feature fun activities for children, such as face painting, WiiTM games and backpack checks, along with helicopters and police cars to explore. There will also be free school supplies available for children who are present (while supplies last.)

For more information or if you have questions, please call the Fairfield Medical Center Marketing and Community Services department at (740) 687-8007.
