Fairfield Federal Savings and Loan recently went the extra mile in supporting breast cancer awareness by donating $500 to the Cancer Care Fund through the Fairfield Medical Center Foundation.
“October is breast cancer awareness month and we once again wanted to make an impression on women in need in our community,” said Judy Root, president of Fairfield Federal Savings and Loan. “Our goal is to encourage women to get their mammogram by partnering with FMC.” Root also noted that employees wore pink to show their support and displayed decorated T-shirts in the bank's lobby throughout the month of October to remind customers of Breast Cancer Awareness month.
The Cancer Care Fund through the FMC Foundation assists people in need of cancer care. The fund is for patients who cannot afford medical care due to lack of insurance.
“We were so thrilled to hear that Fairfield Federal Savings and Loan once again championed breast cancer awareness and made the cancer care fund a priority,” said FMC Foundation Director Ricki Chenault. “We can’t thank them enough for going out of their way to make a difference.”
FMC offers a full line of cancer services, providing treatment and support to patients in need. Cancer services include chemotherapy, surgery, radiation, and more. From diagnosis to treatment, our oncology nurse navigators are by your side, helping you every step of the way.
