Wear Blue and Green on April 19 to Promote Awareness for National Donate Life Month

The month of April is designated National Donate Life Month, a time to reflect on the drastic need for more registered organ, eye and tissue donors. To heighten awareness even further, Donate Life America has created Blue and Green Day, which is scheduled for April 19. Fairfield Medical Center employees have been encouraged to join people across the nation and wear blue and/or green to offer HOPE to the more than 117,000 Americans waiting for a life-saving transplant; HONOR the heroes of organ, eye and tissue donation; REMEMBER those that died waiting for their second chance at life; and CELEBRATE the recipients who received the “Gift of Life” through transplantation.

Fairifeld Medical Center has partnered with Lifeline of Ohio to support this important initiative. “Participation is vital. Two of the most valuable gifts you can give are health, and most importantly, life. Becoming a registered donor is easy and it is something we encourage all Fairfield Medical Center employees to take part in,” expressed Cynthia Pearsall, chief nursing officer at Fairfield Medical Center.

It’s easy to participate. Think blue. Think green. Think blue and green! You can also show your support for donation by registering your decision to donate in the Ohio Donor Registry. Visit www.lifelineofohio.org to learn more about donation and to register online.

Give hope on April 19; wear blue and green. Thank you for your support of organ, eye and tissue donation.
