Fairly Frequent Systems and Moderate Pain
Do you wonder if you’ll be taking antacids and pills for the rest of your life? If you find you are reaching for antacids several times a week, you may be experiencing fairly frequent symptoms and moderate pain. Are you aware that medications may relieve heartburn but could also be masking other problems?
GERD is caused by a malfunctioning valve in the esophagus that does not close properly. GERD can lead to serious conditions such as Barrett’s esophagus or esophageal cancer.
If the medications you take to relieve your heartburn are losing their effectiveness, or if you have been experiencing symptoms for several years, it is definitely time to get serious about your condition. Our Center offers a thorough evaluation to pinpoint the exact cause of your symptoms. Finding the true cause of your symptoms is the first step towards relief of your discomfort or pain.
Life-Altering Symptoms and Pain
Do you sleep in a recliner because you cannot lie flat? Does regurgitation frequently wake you at night? When heartburn makes you miserable day and night you may be experiencing life-altering symptoms and pain. Severe and painful systems of GERD can occur during the day or night, decreasing your productivity, affecting your relationships, and generally making your life miserable.
Heartburn, swallowing difficulties, dental problems and chronic sore throat are just a few of the symptoms of GERD that may affect your quality of life. GERD-related heartburn typically gets progressively worse as you age. Furthermore, recurring symptoms can be a sign of serious problems, such as GERD-induced esophageal cancer.
If your heartburn has drastically reduced your enjoyment of life, or if the only thing holding back the pain is daily medication, it is time to investigate. Fairfield Medical Center’s Heartburn Center offers the latest in state-of-the-art diagnostics techniques and treatment options. End the suffering and sleepless nights, call today!

Corporate Wellness Services
Who we are:
A proactive approach in health care is essential. Fairfield Medical Center is teaming up with local employers to provide the Fairfield Medical Center Corporate Wellness program. By teaching employees the value of living a healthier lifestyle, both the employees and the company benefit!
What we do:
Fairfield Medical Center Corporate Wellness provides services to review, educate, and help
alter risk factors for major health concerns. A comprehensive health risk assessment identifies possible risk factors for various diseases and conditions, such as heart disease, stroke, cancer, and diabetes. Information and education are provided to help decrease or eliminate modifiable risk factors. Identified nutrition and exercise deficits are part of the education counseling.
Is there a fee?
We will provide a proposal and quote to your company’s administrative staff. Many corporate insurance agencies are giving premium discounts to companies that have preventive programs such as this.
How is this done?
A quick visit to your facility will allow us to take a blood sample to check cholesterol, triglycerides, and blood sugar levels for each employee. Body measurements, including
height, weight, and blood pressure will be obtained. Each employee performs a health questionnaire during the visit that asks about lifestyle, family history, and current health practices. A report is generated from all of the information collected, and a follow-up visit
is scheduled approximately two weeks after the first visit to review the report in a group session. The nurse will discuss all of the positive factors of the reports, as well as assisting with the areas needing improvement. This is a general information session and will not involve public discussion of an individual’s results. Results of your report can be sent to the
primary care physicians. A health risk assessment just prior to an annual physical allows your employees to discuss their risk factors with their physicians.
