Resident Education

Why choose Fairfield Medical Center for your residency program:

Fairfield Medical Center is a 222-bed community hospital located in Lancaster, Ohio approximately 30 miles southeast of Columbus. Drawing on a multiple county market area, the medical center has a diverse patient demographic that is optimal for residency training.

As a new program, the Family Medicine Residency provides a unique opportunity for physician trainees who want to help cultivate their clinical educational experience. Innovative curricula and resources such as a new state-of-the-art skills lab will support our education programs. With low physician-to-resident ratios, trainees will gain valuable hands-on learning experience.

While the basic clinical structure of the residency is similar to those participating in the CORE, Fairfield Medical Center is emphasizing the following:

  • Information technology in daily practice
  • Navigating the business of medicine (including office set up and management)
  • Management and integration of physician extenders in a growing practice
  • Incorporation of Six Sigma in the delivery of care

Meet the members of our Six Sigma Department

Qualities we are looking for:

We are most interested in residents who would be engaged in building a new training program, one that seeks to prepare competent and passionate family physicians, having the savvy to lead in quality-conscious clinical care as well as the business of healthcare delivery.
