What is TWIG?
A network of independent, self-governing, hospital support groups. Twig groups can be found in all but seven states. Twig began in Rochester, New York over 100 years ago.
In 1887, Lois Whitney, a prominent member of the Ladies' Auxiliary of Rochester City Hospital was asked to describe the relationship between the hospital and her group, which made and repaired hospital linens. Miss Whitney replied the Ladies' Auxiliary was not quite large enough to be a branch of the hospital, it could aptly be described as a Twig. |

BARGAIN BOUTIQUE
Open Wednesday, - Saturday, 10a.m. - 1 p.m. |
|
 |
107 North Columbus Street, Lancaster, Ohio
Bargain Boutique is Lancaster’s oldest consignment shop. Every season, the Boutique has a large selection of quality women’s, men’s, and children’s clothing and a variety of household items at very reasonable prices. The shop is open Wednesday through Saturday from 10:00 am until 1:00 pm.
The Boutique gets its merchandise from consignors and donations. Consignments are accepted every Saturday from 10:00 am to noon. Donations are accepted any time the shop is open. The Boutique accepts clothing and household items, including jewelry, toys, games, draperies, linens, framed pictures, and small appliances in good working order. Clothing must be clean, in good condition, in current fashion, and on hangers. The shop does not accept long skirts and dresses or bridal apparel.
The terms of consignment are: only ten items can be consigned per person per accepting day and a $2.00 charge will be collected when you bring in articles. Consigners receive two-thirds of the set price when sold, the Boutique receives the other one-third. Consignors may set their own prices or defer final judgment to the Twig Marking Committee. All merchandise accepted for sale will be displayed for five weeks. If it is not sold or withdrawn by the consignor by the end of the fifth week, it automatically becomes the property of the Boutique. Consignor checks are mailed every two months, less 50 cents for postage and handling.
The shop closes twice a year for cleaning and transition to the next selling season. Prior to those closings, the Boutique has a sale to clear as much merchandise as possible.

Tree of Light • Bridge-A-Rama |
|
 |
Tree of Light
Ceremony will take place at
Fairfield Medical Center on
Tuesday, November 25th at 1:00
pm.
The December holiday season is a time of giving and sharing. The Twig’s “Tree of Light”, filled with “love lights” glowing in tribute to friends and loved ones, brightens the Fairfield Medical Center lobby each year.
Twig 7 invites people to sponsor a light on the Tree for donations ranging from $10 to $100, or more. Donors may request that the light shine in honor or in memory of someone. The honoree, or a family member in the case of a memory light, will receive notification that a light is shining in his/her name. A Book of Honor, posted by the Tree, lists the names of all donors and honorees.
Bridge-A-Rama
From October 1 through May 31 each year, Bridge-A-Rama is fun for the people who play contract bridge in either the Ladies Afternoon Group or the Evening Couples Group. Play is governed by the rules of the American Bridge League.
The host/hostess for the month is responsible for contacting the other three players early in the month to arrange the date of play. Each player pays $16 for the entire session. Twenty hands are played in each monthly session.
In addition to the fun, partners in each group can win prizes. A $10 prize is awarded monthly to the partners with the highest score. Grand prizes are awarded at the end of the Bridge-A-Rama year; $50 to the partners with the highest total score for all eight months, $30 to the partners with the second highest total and $20 to the partners with the third highest total.

Twig 9 (Est. 1950)
Dr. P.S. Bone Memorial Twig 9
Uniform Sale • Babies First Photo |
|
 |
Three times a year Twig 9 partners with a local uniform company to hold a “Shop at Work Day” at Fairfield Medical Center. FMC staff and physician office staff are invited to shop and save on brand-name uniforms, scrubs, shoes, and accessories.
The Twig 9 fundraising project is baby’s first photograph, taken at the hospital prior to mom and baby going home. Parents can then order the package they want from the photo company we work with.
In the Web Nursery section of this web site (www.fmchealth.org/webnursery), with parental permission, photos of the infants born at Fairfield Medical Center are displayed. This enables family members and friends all over the world to log in and see the baby for up to 30 days following birth. Family members and friends can also order photo packages or send a personal note of congratulations online.
Proceeds from our projects are used to buy equipment for the Fairfield Medical Center Maternity Unit. |
