2008 Outstanding Specialty Award
Dr. Scott Johnson was named the recipient of this award from the Centers of Osteopathic Research and Education (CORE) because of his dedication to his students. One student was quoted as saying, “His love of teaching, his enthusiasm for his work and his genuine compassion for his patients and students create an atmosphere in which students can thrive.”
Columbus Society of Plastic Surgeons President
In 2009, Dr. Jason Lichten, MD, was elected President of the Columbus Society of Plastic Surgeons. This organization is the largest organization of board-certified plastic surgeons in Central Ohio.
Patient Safety Leadership Fellows
Joan Miller, MT, ASCP, MHSA, FMC Six Sigma Black Belt, was selected into the 2009-2010 class of Patient Safety Leadership Fellows. This is a yearlong, intensive-learning experience dedicated to preparing the next generation of health-care leaders.
Fellows of American College of Surgeons
FMC surgeon Dr. Jose Norberto MD, FACS, was initiated into the worldwide organization Fellows of American College of Surgeons (ACS) in 2009.
Gordon B. Snider Physician Teammate of the Year
Dr John Abidin was named Teammate of the Year in 2010. He has been practicing medicine at FMC for 15 years as an internal medicine physician and was nominated and selected for this annual award by FMC staff.
Society of Critical Care Medicine Award
For the third time, Dr. Christopher Ryckman was awarded by SCCM. In 2009 he received a 10-year certification. SSMC is the only professional organization devoted exclusively to the advancement of multi-professional intensive care through excellence in patient care, education, research and advocacy.
Excellence in Laboratory Medicine Award
Greg Witham, MS, MT (ASCP) SBB, specialty lab supervisor, received this award in the area of education, because of his extraordinary motivation and energy in pursuing and delivering educational excellence in clinical-lab science in 2009.

Community Service Award - Brenda Daubenmire, Mammographer
This award recognizes an employee who supports the health of the community. An employee who volunteers their personal time to partner with other agencies or support groups to improve community health. This cannot be a function of the employee’s job at the Center, but is something above and beyond what they contribute to their community.

Demonstrates excellence in leadership and is a person people look up to for support and guidance on a daily basis. This award recognizes an employee that goes above and beyond and is constantly dedicated to Fairfield Medical Center's mission and values.
Legendary Service Award - Shelley McIntosh, Adiminstrative Assistant
An employee who makes a significant difference in customer service. An employee who is frequently mentioned in surveys or receives outstanding evaluations from their supervisor and peers for customer service.
