Fairfield Medical Center, located in the third fastest growing county in Ohio, we are a 222-bed hospital located about 25 minutes southeast of Columbus. We are the largest employer in Lancaster, as well as Fairfield County.
Outside of the Metro areas, we are the largest inpatient healthcare facility in the counties contiguous to Fairfield and in the remainder of the region, which extends south to the Ohio River. We offer state-of-the-art technology, including a 64-slice CT scanner. Our Emergency Department sees approximately 52,000 visits per year, and is staffed with a group of physicians who all live in the area and only work at our facility. These physicians are very skilled and do a terrific job of managing cases and limiting calls to primary and referring doctors unless absolutely necessary.
We provide care in most specialties at FMC, with the exception of open cranial surgery, burn care, and severe trauma. Because the Columbus Trauma Centers are all nearby, we are able to stabilize critical trauma patients at our facility, and then transport them by air to either Grant or Ohio State Medical Centers.
We have a new collaborative relationship with Ohio University in Athens, Ohio. We have already begun to integrate Medical Students into several physician practices at FMC, and this fall we will begin our FP Residency.
