24-Hour Emergency Department
Our Emergency Department is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. It offers comprehensive emergency medical services for a wide variety of medical needs.
Our intake process identifies patients’ needs in order to expedite critical care. Fairfield Medical Center’s Emergency Department team works hand-in-hand with other departments and physicians to provide the best care available.
Our expert team provides cutting edge protocols to diagnose and treat conditions such as sepsis. A stroke telemedicine partnership with OSU ensures stroke patients receive prompt, specialized care. STEMI alerts assist the Emergency Department in notifying the STEMI team so that cardiac patients will receive immediate care and can be transported directly to the cath lab upon arrival.
As a result of our commitment to national heart care standards; the Society of Chest Pain Centers recognizes Fairfield Medical Center as an Accredited Chest Pain Center. We also employ certified sexual assault nurse examiners and crisis intervention counselors who perform assessments and treatment in a private, safe and secure environment.
Please remember that your first choice for care is not always the Emergency Department. Your family physician should be your first choice for care, unless it is a serious medical emergency. He or she has the relationship and records of history that serve you better when non-emergency care is needed. If you are in need of a family physician, please visit our “Find a Doctor” link to locate a physician in your area.
The Emergency Department is located on the north side of the Fairfield Medical Center at the North Entrance. For information please call (740) 687-8100.
