Pulmonary Rehabilitation
FMC’s Outpatient Pulmonary Rehabilitation Program is designed to help pulmonary patients live an independent and active life within their physical limits.
Individuals with asthma, emphysema, chronic bronchitis and other lung diseases can benefit from the eight-week program of education, exercise, medication and nutritional counseling.
The program’s goal is to help the patient maintain an optimal state of physical and mental health.
Direct benefits include:
- Reduced occurrence of shortness of breath
- Improved exercise endurance
- Learning to control the symptoms of respiratory impairment
- Improved activities of daily living
Admission to the Outpatient Pulmonary Rehabilitation Program at FMC requires testing and the approval of your personal physician. Most major health insurance companies will reimburse all or part of the fees.
