LANCASTER, Ohio (June 12, 2012) – The Fairfield Medical Center Chaplain staff recently hosted a rededication ceremony for the newly renovated Chapel located on the third floor across from the patient tower elevators.
Pictured are TWIG 7 members in the Chapel who helped with the remodeling of the FMC Chapel located on the third floor.
TWIG 7 and the FMC Foundation donated funds in order to provide a more relaxed and peaceful area for patients and their families. “We wanted to make a difference by allowing patients and their loved ones a place to go to right on campus to aid in recovery and to help in the healing process,” said Ricki Chenault, FMC Foundation executive director.
A talented local artist named Cheryl Fey completed the beautiful wall mural to add more tranquility to the Chapel. “I pray it will be a place of comfort and meditation for many people, as well as a nice place for small groups to gather,” said Fey. FMC’s Deacon, Paul Deshaies, (also a part-time FMC Chaplain) skillfully constructed a new literature table and kneeler as well.
"Chaplain Jim and I are thankful to be part of the FMC team whose passion is to ensure continued spiritual vitality," noted Gregory Schmalfeldt, FMC chaplain.
Take some time to come view the warm, peaceful surroundings the FMC Chapel offers. It is the perfect place for sacred reading, prayer, reflection and solace. The Chapel is open all day, every day for patients, families and staff. For questions or more information, call (740) 687-8344.
