FMC Offers Breathe Easy Educational Seminar to Help People with Respiratory and Pulmonary Illness
LANCASTER, Ohio (February 28, 2012) – Fairfield Medical Center (FMC) and Fairfield Pulmonary and Critical Care Associates are once again offering Breathe Easy, a pulmonary and respiratory educational series to benefit people in Southeastern Ohio that struggle with breathing problems.
Join us Tuesday, March 22 from 6 – 7:30 p.m. at the Scenic Hills Senior Center at 187 South Spring Street in Logan. Dr. Jarrod Bruce, FMC critical care pulmonologist, will give a brief presentation on "COPD: Beyond the Basics."
Another seminar will be offered at FMC in Assembly Rooms 2 and 3 on Saturday, April 28 from 11:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m. Dr. Christian Tencza, FMC critical care pulmonologist, will give a short presentation on “Acute COPD exacerbations.”
The event is specifically designed to help educate those individuals with respiratory and pulmonary illnesses. Various stations will be available including: education on chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), asthma, complementary spirometry, pulse oximetry, pulmonary function test (PFT) screenings, nutrition tips, smoking cessation, inhaler treatment/education, and pulmonary rehab information.
“We encourage anyone with respiratory or pulmonary concerns to attend this free seminar,” said Dr. Tencza. “Such helpful information can improve quality of life and help people cope much easier with their condition.”
