LANCASTER, Ohio (October 5, 2011) – Through awareness we understand; through understanding we unite; through uniting we overcome. Fairfield Medical Center (FMC) is using this theme to reach out to those in our community during October. As many of you already know, October is breast cancer awareness month and is a crucial time to ask your loved one if they have had their mammogram recently or have one scheduled in the near future.
Understanding the cancer care services available at FMC is a vital part in taking a proactive stand against breast cancer. FMC offers an oncology nurse navigator who assists patients in their oncology treatment process for cancer. Joyce Cox, MSN, CNP, OCN serves as a liaison between patients and all other members of the health care team.
During the month of October make it a priority to think of your loved ones and do all that you can to help us battle breast cancer. You can join us at the Fairfield County Fair booth to see how important it is to have your routine mammogram on October 11 from 11:00 am - 5:00 pm.
Fairfield Medical Center is equipped with a Mammography Suite along with digital mammography. The Suite is located near the south entrance of the hospital and if you are interested in a tour or would like additional information, please contact Joyce Cox, MSN, CNP, OCN, Oncology Nurse Navigator at (740) 687-8863.
