Outpatient Therapy Services provides a wide range of treatments for stroke and other neurological impairments including stroke, Parkinson’s Disease, Multiple Sclerosis, Muscular Dystrophy, ALS (Lou Gehrig’s Disease), chronic brain injury, neuropathies, and spinal cord injury. Neurological conditions can present a patient with extreme challenges. Occupational therapy, physical therapy and speech therapy often involves re-learning skills we take for granted or developing new skills to replace functions that are no longer possible.
Successful treatment requires an understanding that goes beyond the patient's physical condition. We take the time to understand each individual and help him or her manage the physical realities that they face in everyday life.
Diseases, trauma, or injury involving the brain, spine, and/or nerves may result in weakness, balance problems, stiffness, pain, dizziness, and/or lack of coordination. All of these problems may impact walking, contribute to falls, impair movement, and limit an individuals’ ability to complete activities at home, work, and within the community.
Outpatient Therapy Services specializes in treating patients with neurologic disorders with the ultimate goal to improve their quality of life. Treatment is focused on recovery, exploring strategies to optimize movement, and to prevent future problems that may impact overall health and wellness. In addition to completing a thorough evaluation, our therapists actively involve the patient in the development and progression of their customized therapy program.
