FMC FOUNDATION RECEIVES $6,002 FROM GRATEFUL PATIENT
LANCASTER, Ohio (May 15, 2013) – The Fairfield Medical Center Foundation recently received a generous donation of $6,002 from grateful patient and cancer survivor Michelle Unger. Unger and her family hosted the second annual Strides 4 Survive Cancer Care Walk on Jan. 27 at River Valley Mall.
The proceeds from this event were donated to the FMC Foundation Cancer Care Fund to continue to help provide services to cancer patients in the community. The check was presented to Ricki Chenault, FMC Foundation executive director and Joyce Cox and Ivy O’Neil, FMC oncology nurse navigators.
“I think Michelle was surprised by the turnout this year. Over the past two years, this event has made more than $11,000 for cancer care at FMC. Through her personal experience Michelle has become a champion to ensure that patients in need get as much assistance as possible to help them during their cancer treatment,” Chenault said. “Such a donation speaks volumes about her character and will have a tremendous impact on patients at Fairfield Medical Center.”
