TWIG 1 WITH THE HELP OF LGSA DONATE TO CANCER CARE FUND

LANCASTER, Ohio (December 23, 2013) – TWIG 1 recently donated $15,000 towards the Cancer Care Fund through the Fairfield Medical Center Foundation. The proceeds were from the annual Cancer Care Run and Walk held in October at Marten’s Park.

"We worked very hard this year to make our 2013 event the most successful one yet,” said TWIG 1 member Sara Boyden. “We are so proud to raise money that stays in our community and continues to grow each year.”

For the second year the Lancaster Girls Softball Association (LGSA) partnered with TWIG 1. LGSA holds a fundraiser the same day as the TWIG 1 Run/Walk at Marten’s Park.  “With the help of our many sponsors, and the funds raised by LGSA, TWIG 1 was able to donate a shocking $15,000,” said Boyden. “We look forward to another successful event next year at our Cancer Care Run, slated for October 11, 2014."

TWIG 1 has donated over $60,000 to the cancer care fund throughout the recent years.  Every penny raised will help patients at Fairfield Medical Center pay for much needed treatments and preventative care, including: Mammograms, colonoscopies, medications and more.

“We thank both TWIG 1 and LGSA for their kindness and support,” said Ricki Chenault, FMC Foundation executive director. “This donation speaks volumes regarding their dedication to our community and we are very grateful to them.”

The cancer care fund is a patient assistance fund that helps pay for many items that most insurance companies do not cover. For more information on the cancer care fund, please contact the FMC Foundation office at (740) 687-8107.
