Mount Carmel College of Nursing at Fairfield Medical Center
The Mount Carmel College of Nursing (MCCN) and Fairfield Medical Center (FMC) partnership, established in 2008, is a four-year baccalaureate program designed to prepare students for exciting careers in nursing. Based at the FMC campus, the program affords students in Lancaster, Ohio, and surrounding areas the opportunity to obtain a Mount Carmel nursing education close to home.
The completion of general-education classes during the first year at the Ohio University-Lancaster campus is followed by a strong continuing curriculum. The second through fourth years consist of nursing, theory clinical and selected-general education and science courses, all based at the FMC campus. Students will be able to utilize FMC’s Medical Education Resource Facility. This new state-of-the-art facility includes a medical library, classrooms, skills labs and a conference room. To keep up with the latest technology, FMC has purchased video-conference equipment that allows for lectures, skills labs and other interactive learning to be shared with other hospitals and education resources.
Students who successfully complete the nursing program will be awarded a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree from the Mount Carmel College of Nursing.
