Medical Education

Welcome! The Office of Graduate Medical Education at Fairfield Medical Center provides support for medical students, residents and physician assistant students. Located approximately 30 miles southeast of Columbus, the medical center draws from a multiple-county market area, providing a diverse patient demographic that is optimal for medical education training.

Graduate Medical Education

FMC, Ohio University Heritage College of Osteopathic Medicine, and the Centers for Osteopathic Research and Education have partnered to offer primary care residency programs at our community medical center. Accredited by the American Osteopathic Association, our Family Medicine Residency Program began in 2010.

With the launch of our Internal Medicine Residency Program in 2012, FMC’s Emery and Evelyn Williams Graduate Medical Education Resource Center was opened as a dedicated area for residents to train, including lecture and study facilities; sophisticated audio, visual and videoconference technology; osteopathic manipulative therapy; and other hands-on learning directed by FMC physician instructors.
