LANCASTER, Ohio (April 2, 2012) – The Partnership for Excellence (TPE) has appointed Mina Ubbing, Fairfield Medical Center (FMC) president and CEO, to its board of trustees for a three-year term.
“It is both a privilege and an honor to have the opportunity to recognize excellence through The Partnership for Excellence,” Ubbing said. “It is a good way to run a business and I am a strong supporter of its mission.”
TPE named FMC as a Silver-level award recipient at the Awards for Excellence Ceremony held in September of 2011. FMC was one of eight organizations receiving an award in Ohio.
According to its website, TPE is responsible for making quality a priority and disseminating best practices. It focuses on improving organizational performance. Benefits include increasing productivity, increasing customer and employee satisfaction, and achieving stronger financial performance.
“Mina has a great deal of experience in the healthcare field and we are honored to have her on our team," said Frank Perez, chairman of the TPE Board of Trustees. "Her background and expertise of the issues facing all of us in healthcare will be invaluable in achieving the goals of the board."
Throughout the years, Ubbing has served as a champion for the Ohio healthcare system, particularly through her congressional testimonials. In 2001, she was appointed as president and CEO of FMC. She has more than 27 years in the field of healthcare finance and also served as FMC’s chief financial officer. Ubbing teaches healthcare purchasing management at Ohio University in Lancaster.
