LANCASTER, Ohio (March 29, 2013) – Fairfield Medical Center Hospitalist, Douglas Pope, M.D., was named the 2012 Gordon B. Snider Physician Teammate of the Year on March 26 among his peers at the quarterly medical staff meeting.
This is Dr. Pope’s second time winning the award. He has been practicing medicine at FMC for 16 years and he and his wife reside in Baltimore.
“On behalf of all of us here at Fairfield Medical Center we honor Dr. Pope for his dedication to his patients and for being a team player amongst staff,” said Dr. Steven Cox, Fairfield Medical Center chief medical officer. “He is a role model to all of us and goes above and beyond on a daily basis, truly deserving of this recognition.”
FMC employees are given the opportunity to nominate a physician for this award and the award is given every year in conjunction with Doctors’ Day. Previous winners include Martha Buckley, M.D.; David Strominger, M.D.; Mark Darnell, M.D.; Troy Edwards, D.O.; Kanwaljit Singh, M.D.; Ralph Romaker, M.D.; and John Abidin, M.D.
