Congratulations to FMC’s Heartburn Center for performing 100 LINX procedures. The 100th procedure was performed on May 20th by Jeffrey Yenchar, M.D., medical director of the Heartburn Center.

FMC Summer 2020 Event Cancellations
Fairfield Medical Center’s highest priority is the safety of the public and as the healthcare leaders in the region, it is our responsibility to help minimize the spread of
COVID-19. Due to the potential risk of attendees at large gatherings, Fairfield Medical Center and the Fairfield Medical Center Foundation will not be hosting the following events in 2020:

- Annual Bike Race at the Lancaster Festival (July 31)
- Autism Summer Camp (July 27-August 7)

Fairfield Medical Center Participates in COVID-19 Investigational Treatment Study
Fairfield Medical Center is excited to announce its participation in the COVID-19 investigational treatment study led by the Mayo Clinic, which provides convalescent plasma infusions as a treatment for patients experiencing severe or life-threatening complications from COVID-19.

Fairfield Medical Center Named 2020 Top Workplace by Columbus CEO Magazine
Fairfield Medical Center is pleased to announce that it has been named a 2020 TOP WORKPLACE by Columbus CEO magazine in the large companies category (companies with more than 350 employees). Through this award, Central Ohio companies in small, midsize and large categories are recognized for creating and maintaining environments where employees feel appreciated, engaged and energized to do their best work. This is the fourth time FMC has received the Top Workplace honor.

FMC Community Events Postponed or Cancelled
Communities around central Ohio are cancelling or postponing events and taking additional precautions to reduce the spread of the 2019 Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19). Many of FMC’s community events have been postponed or canceled; however, there are still ways to give back.

FMC is working with the Ohio Department of Health to reduce the number of opioid-related deaths in Fairfield County.

FMC Performs New Life Saving Heart Procedure
A new, minimally invasive treatment option for patients living with a common form of valvular heart disease is now being offered at Fairfield Medical Center.

Over 100 Students at Bloom Carroll High School Received CPR Training
On Friday, Dec. 20, Fairfield Medical Center and the Greenfield Township Fire Department worked together to accomplish a common goal: to increase CPR awareness in the community.

LHS Student Donates Money to Cancer Care Fund
Lancaster High School student Emi Reindle recently presented the FMC Foundation with a check for $600 for the Cancer Care Fund. Emi hosted a fundraiser in cooperation with TWIG One during the Cancer Care Run in October to honor her mother, Renee Reindle, who was diagnosed with breast cancer last year.

Southeastern Ohio USBC donated $7,816 to the Cancer Care Fund
The Southeastern Ohio United States Bowling Congress (USBC) hosted Strike Out Breast Cancer in October 2018 at Tiki Lanes in Lancaster. Through T-shirt sales and raffle prizes, 135 bowlers raised roughly $8,816 and donated $7,816 to the Fairfield Medical Center Foundation Cancer Care Fund.
