March 8 Blood Drive Open to Community Members

Who: FMC Employees and Community Members
What: American Red Cross Blood Drive hosted by Fairfield Medical Center
Where: FMC Main Campus, 401 N. Ewing St., Lancaster (2nd Floor Assembly Rooms)
When: Friday, March 8 from 10 AM-4 PM

Why:

Blood is a perishable product that can only be obtained from volunteer blood donors. According to the American Red Cross blood products must be constantly replenished in order to keep up with community demand.

“We urge community members to donate blood and help ensure that patients in local hospitals have a supply of blood ready and waiting before an emergency occurs,” Red Cross said. “There’s no better feeling than knowing that your blood donation may give someone a second chance at life.”

According to the Red Cross, donors with all blood types are needed, especially those with types O negative, A negative and B negative.

How:

  • Reach out to the Blood Drive Coordinator to schedule an appointment.
  • Utilize the Rapid Pass option at redcrossblood.org/RapidPass the day of the drive to save time before your appointment.
  • Bring your driver’s license or American Red Cross donor card for identification. The proper identification is a requirement and without it you will not be able to donate. Keep in mind that your FMC employee badge does not meet the requirement and will not be accepted.

In addition to saving lives:

Receive a $10 e-gift card to a pet supply merchant of your choice as thanks for your pawsitive impact! Plus automatically be entered for a chance to win a $3,000 gift card (5 winners!)
