About Charles Smoot, DO, FACS
Dr. Smoot combines extensive experience with a compassionate approach to patient care. As a physician interested in treating the whole person, he values partnering with multidisciplinary care teams to support comprehensive health and healing.
Dr. Smoot grew up in Northern Michigan. He enrolled in the Army health professional scholarship to pursue his passion for medicine and is a proud veteran. Throughout his career, he has served as a general and cardiothoracic surgeon on assignments across the US and in the Middle East. Returning to his Midwestern roots has allowed him to be closer home.
When he’s not with his patients, Dr. Smoot enjoys spending time with family as well as traveling, football, baseball and history.
