Get Ahead of Vascular Disease

Doctor providing exam with modern med equipment.Do you know if you’re at risk for vascular disease? Depending on your risk factors, you could be more likely than others to be affected by vascular disease.

Fortunately, we have a number of effective screening options to help head off any potential problems, and to solve them should they arise. Including:

Vascular Ultrasound (also called a Duplex or Doppler study) – examines circulation in the blood vessels of the neck, abdomen, arms and legs.

Ankle Brachial Index (also called ABI) – compares the blood pressures in the ankles to the blood pressures in the arms to determine whether there are blocked arteries in the legs due to peripheral artery disease.

Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm screening – ultrasound of the abdomen to determine if part of the aorta is enlarged and suggestive of an aneurysm.

Carotid Artery Disease screening – ultrasound in the neck to view arteries and blood flow to identify plaque, narrowing or blockages in the carotid artery

Screenings are performed in our Cardiovascular Imaging Center, and results are interpreted by a board-certified vascular surgeon.

For more information about screenings, please call 740-687-8170.
