Stay Active, Even From Home

While we are unable to meet face-to-face, it is still important to stay active when possible. The classes below are offered by the Cancer Resource Center, free of charge for cancer patients, survivors and support persons.

Gentle Yoga

This unique class combines strength, balance, flowing movement and dynamic breathing to work the body and calm the mind. Exercises will include head-to-toe stretching, as well as techniques to release tension and address muscle imbalances. Modifications are provided to ensure the class is appropriate for all levels. Emphasis is on muscle toning and strength, flexibility and cardiovascular endurance.

Prepare for this class by finding a quiet space – maybe even turning down the lights or lighting a candle. Gather a yoga mat or blanket, towel, water and any items you may want to use for support – like a chair or bolster.

Gentle Exercise

This class offers circuit training exercises to challenge individuals at their own pace – even sitting in a chair, if needed. Viewers will rotate between ten exercises for 30 seconds each, for up to four cycles. Emphasis is on muscle toning, strength and cardiovascular endurance.
