Screen for Colon Cancer and Catch It Early
With one in 25 adults developing colon cancer during their lifetime, studies show that colorectal cancer is the fourth most common type of cancer diagnosed in the United States — but the good news it that it’s also one of the most preventable. That’s why Fairfield Medical Center is passionate about screening for colon cancer to catch the disease in its earliest stages.
Our board-certified oncologists use state-of-the-art technology to provide you with the best care possible. Once diagnosed, you will be connected with an oncology nurse navigator who is there every step of the way to provide guidance, support and education.

If You’re 45 or Older, It’s Time for a Screening
The screening guidelines for colon cancer recommend beginning regular screening at age 45 or earlier if you have a family history of the disease, or other risk factors. There are several methods to screening for colon cancer, but talk to your provider to determine which one is the best fit for you. Colon cancer often starts with little to no symptoms in the early stages, so it’s important to keep up with screenings even if you are feeling well.
