Our Community and History

When you join Fairfield Medical Center, you become a part of an organization dedicated to its patients, employees, families and the communities we serve.

Fairfield County was formed on Dec. 9, 1800, by a proclamation of Gov. Aurthur St. Clair. The county was named for the beauty of its fair fields and sits just on the edge of Ohio's Appalachian region. While the once-glaciated northern portion of the county is fairly flat, as one travels south along U.S. 33,  the foothills of a mountainous region are recognizable beginning around the village of Carroll. This trip will lead you to the scenic Hocking

If you have children or are thinking of starting a family, Fairfield County is home to excellent schools and a wonderful parks system.
