Frequently Asked Questions for New Employees
We are pleased that you made the decision to become part of our team of dedicated healthcare professionals. Below you will find some helpful tips that will assist you in planning your first week with FMC.
Professional attire is required for orientation. Scrubs (if permitted as part of your position) can also be worn. Please read the enclosed dress code guidelines carefully. Tattoos and facial piercings (with the exception of 2 earrings per ear) must be covered or removed. Jeans are not permitted.
On your first of orientation you may park in the mid-level of the parking garage. Upon entering the building, please follow the signage to Classroom Beta. The parking policy will be discussed on day one of orientation; you will be expected to park in the appropriate lot beginning on Tuesday.
Orientation begins with a welcome from our CEO and Senior Leadership team. The morning will consist of various speakers and activities to help familiarize you with Fairfield Medical Center. Your manager or preceptor will meet you for lunch (lunch is provided) and you will have the opportunity to spend time in your department before returning to orientation to meet with the Benefits Coordinator from Human Resources. Prior to attending orientation, please review the benefit information and prepare any questions you may have for our Benefits Coordinator.
Tuesday and Wednesday will also be spent in orientation. Please see the attached agenda for more detail. During the luncheon on Monday, your manager or preceptor will give you an idea of what to expect in your department the rest of the week.
New employees are paid for their time spent in orientation. Employees are paid their base hourly rate of pay.
