What is pulmonary medicine?
Pulmonary medicine, or pulmonology, is a branch of medicine that deals directly with the treatment of diseases affecting the lungs and respiratory tract. For example, a pulmonologist may help you manage a chronic breathing disorder, like COPD or asthma, or they may help you recover from a pneumonia diagnosis.
Services we offer:
- Lung cancer screenings – If you are 50-80 years of age, and have a 20 pack-year history of smoking, you may qualify for a lung cancer screening.
- Tobacco cessation services – If you currently use tobacco, speak with our team to help you connect with resources to kick the habit.
- Pulmonary rehabilitation – Pulmonary rehabilitation can help improve your quality of life and make the most of limited lung function due to lung diseases.
Respiratory Therapy – If you are hospitalized for a condition affecting your lungs, your provider may refer you to a respiratory therapist (RT) while in the hospital or emergency department.
