On June 9, FMC cut the ribbon on its newly renovated cath lab, a project made possible thanks to a $1 million donation from the FMC Foundation. The ceremony included remarks from Travis Markwood of the Lancaster-Fairfield County Chamber of Commerce, Kelly Fuller with the Columbus Chamber Foundation, Dr. Jason André with FHP Vascular Surgery, Jack Janoso and FMC Foundation board member Denise Bauer, who spoke fondly of the care she received in the cath lab following a heart attack more than a decade ago. “The type of heart attack I had is called a widow maker; my brother, who was eight years younger, died in his 40s from the same thing,” Denise said. “From the moment I arrived, I was in the cath lab and I was given nothing but exceptional quality care. They saved my life.”

The renovations, which include the addition of new equipment, will allow the cardiovascular team to accomodate additional patients and perform more complex, limb and life-saving interventions.
