What is the Health Information Exchange (HIE)?
Health Information Exchange allows your health information to be SHARED among physicians, hospitals and other healthcare providers.
What are the benefits?
- HIE gives your medical providers immediate access to information necessary to treat you (for example: hospitalizations, X-rays, immunizations, medications, etc.)
- Reduces the need for duplicate tests and treatments, which reduces your out-of-pocket expenses and saves you time.
- Reduces the chance of dangerous medication errors.
How do I sign up for the Health Information Exchange?
No action is required on your part. If you choose not to participate, a form will be given to you to sign.
