The Beat Goes On is an event that reunites survivors of major cardiac events with the first responders and Fairfield Medical Center team members who cared for them. March 6, 2025, marked the third year FMC has hosted this celebration, which highlights the gift of second chances, the joy of new milestones and the long-lasting bonds that caregivers form with patients and their families. In total, five cardiac arrest and critically ill heart patients attended the reunion to reconnect with their healthcare heroes. “This event is healing for all involved,” said Deserae Belcher, FMC STEMI Coordinator and event organizer. “It allows patients to feel less isolated in their recovery, it helps bystanders process the traumatic experience of witnessing cardiac arrest, and it renews a sense of purpose for those of us in the field or at the bedside. It’s an evening that is near and dear to my heart, and I know it means a lot to all involved.” Thank you to the team members, EMS crews and guests who made this event a success!
