Our Physicians

Our team of physicians is here to provide excellent care to you and your baby. Your OB physician or an OB Hospitalist will direct the plan for your care during labor, delivery and recovery. In addition to attending your delivery, these physicians will be available at your bedside as needed and round daily to see patients after delivery.

Anesthesiologists provide 24-hour coverage for our maternity department and are available to provide epidural pain management and anesthesia for cesarean sections.

Your baby needs care too and will receive it from one of our pediatric hospitalists. A recent partnership with Nationwide Children’s Hospital (NCH) has allowed for the expansion of expert pediatric inpatient care. Nationwide Children’s pediatric hospitalists are familiar faces in the community who provide years of local experience. These skilled physicians will work closely with your OB physician to offer comprehensive, advanced care during your stay at Fairfield Medical Center.NCH-FMC partnership logo

Midwifery Care at Fairfield Medical Center

At Fairfield Medical Center, you can have the best of both worlds – the experience of a midwife-led delivery with the reassurance that a physician is close by if needed.

About our Hospitalists

Babies come when they’re ready – that’s why Fairfield Medical Center is always prepared.

Our organization has partnered with Ob Hospitalist Group (OBHG) to provide an OB/GYN Hospitalist service. OBHG is the nation’s largest and only dedicated provider of customized women’s health solutions, focused on improving access to care and ensuring all women receive timely, unconditional obstetric attention. A quality team of skilled and dedicated providers has been selected to carry out the mission of improving patient care, safety and outcomes.

OBGH does not replace your primary OB/GYN provider. In collaboration with your provider, an OBHG can manage your labor and delivery until your own physician arrives. During your stay, these doctors will work closely together to maintain continuity of care.

OBHG provides care to all women admitted to the FMC Maternity Department or the Emergency Department at the main campus.

OBHG are board certified Obstetricians & Gynecologists providing 24/7 in-house coverage.

The Role of OB Hospitalists

Whether you are a patient of FHP OB/GYN, established with an alternative practice or have no established provider at all, Fairfield Medical Center’s obstetric hospitalists are available 24/7 to assist in deliveries, emergencies and address the concerns of expecting families. This group of specialists are an extension of your provider and work closely alongside your healthcare team, keeping mom and baby safe and healthy.
