Sports Concussion Care Program
At Fairfield Medical Center, we believe the best way to properly manage a sports-related concussion is to start before the injury even occurs. Sport Concussion Assessment Tool 6 (SCAT6) is a standardized tool for evaluating concussions created by healthcare professionals. The SCAT6 is designed to be performed within 72 hours and up to one week after an injury. A baseline SCAT6 can be helpful for interpreting post-injury test results and ensuring a player is back to “normal” in areas like balance, memory and cognition before they are cleared. We recommend getting a baseline test before the season starts so if a head injury occurs, our experts can compare evaluations. Get aHEAD of the game through our Baseline Concussion Testing.
