Dr. Angeline Stergiou of Fairfield Healthcare Professionals Psychiatry and Health Psychology has been named a recipient of the Friend of ADAMH Award, which is presented by the Fairfield County Alcohol, Drug Addiction, and Mental Health (ADAMH) Board. The ADAMH Board says Dr. Stergiou’s efforts to promote healing, support recovery, and provide prevention and treatment services of mental health and addiction disorders within our community are what make her a great friend of the ADAMH.
Dr. Stergiou has been a doctor of psychiatry since 1992. In 1995, she started working in the psychiatric unit at Fairfield Medical Center, which is when her relationship with ADAMH began. Dr. Stergiou said she is passionate about ADAMH and the significant role they play in recognizing the needs of those who struggle with mental health disorders and addictions in our community. ADAMH also plays a key role in creating opportunities for prevention, treatment, wellness and recovery.
“I am honored by the award,” says Dr. Stergiou. “I am grateful to all those who supported my efforts to provide care in the community, and thus share this honor with them.”
